Life on the River Sure is Sweet

Shore traffic, why deal with it when you don’t have to? Forget the weekend treks to the beach and enjoy a fabulous vacation spot on the water, just around the corner. Why put two+ hours between you and your happy place when you can enjoy it year round? Port Indian is one of Montgomery County’s best kept secrets, so secret that I’ll bet that you didn’t even know it exists. Whether this is your permanent home, or a local getaway, life on the river sure is sweet.

The private waterfront community of Port Indian is tucked away, nestled in the Valley Forge Watershed, between the beautiful Schuylkill River and the Schuylkill River Trail. 30 West Indian is almost an acre of either action packed fun, or a lazy day on the river; it’s your choice and both options are phenomenal. Actually, the property is large enough that family and friends can enjoy both rip roaring fun and relaxation all at the same time. This property is among one of the larger lots in Port Indian and features a boat launch, not only a rarity on the river, but a very hot commodity. In addition to the boat launch, there is a huge dock, beautiful grounds with a fire pit, killer custom cabana bar and deck, outdoor shower and more. Port Indian has its own Ski Club, as well as, Civic and Boating Association and offers great annual events including the Ski Freeze in January and River Day in July. There are several other local organizations to check out if you are fan of the water, like the Upper Merion Boat Club. On the other side of West Indian Lane is the Schuylkill River Trail that runs from Center City to Oaks, where is connects with the Perkiomen Trail. The trail passes through Valley Forge Park, as well as Conshohocken, Manayunk and the Art Museum.

The home itself is located close to major routes of transportation, yet feels completely removed. This solidly built home is only 8 years old, so everything feels new. Seriously, what’s not to love?
